Arsenal is in transition.. whether they can get out of this stage is something to watch out for... by the time the young fellas like van Persie and Fabregas become vets, the old guard like Henry and Pires would be past their peak..
MUFC.. i think they've lost the plot.. great individuals, but not producing what they can.. their defense is leaky as all heck..
LFC.. give them time.. and a few more great players, they'll beat anyone.. they have shown they have the steel to do it, but consistency (even when they are unbeaten for so long) is lacking..
Spurs.. i suspect a flash in the pan.. they don't have the depth...
Bolton: see Spurs..
Portsmouth: not glamourous enough a name.. names must slowly be built.. they just don't have the pedigree yet..
Wigan: the Carling Cup game said it all.. their fanbase could not keep going to the games and the semi-final was played to a half-empty stadium even when the fans wanted to go.. they may lack the funds to pursue such lofty heights.. for the moment..
i like the underdog... somewhere in there, partial to Man City now because they have a manager who is so damned honest-to-goodness human, you can't help but like them!
and he's given that team steel..
who knows? they may be the ones to humble Chelsea?

Arsenal - They just started to rebuild the team cos Vierra left. Won't be a force this season. Next season maybe. More likely 2007/2008.
ManU - Great team but dropping unnecessary points. Depends too much on Rooney and RVN. Hopefully they solve their goalkeeper problem with Van Der Sar. Next year may have a go at Chelsea.
Liverpool - Most serious challanger this year. But lousy start to the season. The next few games will tell if they have it.
Spurs - Not consistent enough. Martin Jol must bring in a couple more players to enhance this team. Otherwise would be good enough for top 5 only.
Other teams to watch but may not challenge seriously yet : Bolton, Portsmouth (new investor), Wigan (surprise team)
My 2 cents worth.
