Baffling is the only word I can think of right now. Next you'll see players sent off for any kind of celebrations ... piling one on top of the other on the field just because someone scored a goal? Instant red. Off goes half the squad

for you fans who refuse to accept it.. even Jose "we won that match against liverpool" Mourinho has accepted it...
the ref had no choice... the rules are cast in stone: you leap over, you get yellow-carded.. since Robben was carded before, the ref had no choice but to send the fella off..
however, if you watched another match, the ref should not have sent off Ronaldo.. that should have been a yellow-card offence..

Mourinho accepts Robben dismissal
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho accepts that Arjen Robben had to be sent off after scoring in the 2-1 win at Sunderland.
The Dutch winger was given a second yellow card for jumping into the crowd after scoring the winning goal.
Mourinho said: "Under the rules, the referee had no option. I don't like the rule because part of the show is the players' relationship with the crowd.
"Arjen has to learn when he already has a yellow card, he has to control himself," the manager added.
"It's an experience for him, next time he has a yellow card and scores he has to make sure he stays on the pitch.
"He will not do it again. He will remember for his career because he has had a yellow card that he cannot celebrate with the fans when he scores a goal."
The Portuguese manager, who saw his side extend their lead at the top of the table to 16 points with the win, called for a change in the rules.
He added: "I think it would be easy for a referee to give one more minute extra-time instead of the second yellow card.
"The player celebrates with the fans, it takes a little bit more time - instead of three minutes extra time, he gives four or five and it's done.
"But I think (referee Chris) Foy did well because he did what the rule says he had to do.
"It's a chance for (Damien) Duff and Shaun Wright-Phillips to play the next game because Arjen will be suspended.

There wasn't any offence intended anyway. Where there are people involved, there'll always be differences in opinions. There are some folks who regularly make negative comments about Chelsea in this forum and try to persuade us fans to see things their way. All part of the fun. We all try to be as objective as we can but at the end of the day we'll stand behind the clubs we support

he's celebrating with his own fans is that wrong?and on the basis of time wasting it probaly lasted less den a minute..
and i feel that jose only said that cause chelsea won,if chelsea had conceded or drop points after the sending off,his speech would have been different..
its time for a revamp of the rules,cause as far as i can remember this is the first time i have seen an epl referee do this while many players are guility of commiting this crime..
now where is the consistency? -
can't blame the ref for the robben, it's the rules that are stupid
