yea thats what i fear especially when gallas is ruled out..Originally posted by dragg:it wont be easy to keep a clean sheet against barcelona.
on current form, over 2 legs i feel barcelona still has the slight edge.
chelsea has been leaking goals in the last few matches against much weaker oppositions.
i hope the lousy pitch wont affect the quality of the match.
and hopefully no rain please!!!
Not quite controversial. From tv, it seemed that one Chelsea player landed his boot INTO Messi's stomach.Originally posted by miss_soojung:Disappointing ... ref decision, that is. Falling prey to 'Messi' theatrics
Playing Barca is difficult enough, to be down to 10 men barely past 35mins into the game (again, yet another controversial decision, yet another Scandinavian ref ) ... I thought Chelsea did a fine job.
Go Blues! There's still Round 2 at the Nou Camp to go

Which bit was that?Originally posted by Parka:Not quite controversial. From tv, it seemed that one Chelsea player landed his boot INTO Messi's stomach.
reina's challenge and his behaviour was an obvious red-card offence, the theatrics aside.Originally posted by the Bear:well, you know what they say about karma..
what goes around, comes around..
chelsea can rant about this one but i guess the Robben incident against Reina was kinda worse, wasn't it?
chelsea sucked?Originally posted by anhydrouscoppersulphate:chelsea sucked. barca owns

but del horno's wasnt. the referee gave the sending-off under pressure. he should at least consult the linesman.
The camera shot from the sideline aka the side assistant's point of view.Originally posted by miss_soojung:Which bit was that?
There's really no malicious intent on Del Horno's part. But that guy is just charging in to knock Messi off. That's what I felt.Originally posted by Twice A Day:Damn disappointed by the sending off man..Not that i support chelsea but that it could have been a cracking game esp the half half..
Chelsea have always managed to turn up the heat in the second half..The tactics was screwed...
Mourinho could have left cole in as i felt he seemed like the creative spark that can unlock the barca def. And duff could have come on in the 2nd half to add some width. But with a man down they could only apply mass defending to keep the scoreline down.
What a sham man...But IMO, i just could not see the intent from del horno to injure cause grievous injury to messi. And certainly the ref looked shaky before pulliong out the red after strong protests by the barca team.
But this is soccer and the better team on the night won...i looked forward to the 2nd game with and chelsea will win it to go thru..
firstly i am not a chelsea supporter.Originally posted by the Bear:i wasn't talking about Reina.. he deserved that red card...
i was talking about Robben acting as if he got shot in the head by a high-calibre rifle in order to get Reina into more trouble..
please do not be blind to the bad sportsmanship of the team you support...
btw, it was a bad tackle.. even you can't deny that..
pressure or no, it looked bad enough to warrant a red...
and remember.. Essien got away with trying to maim another player.. TWICE!
did you scream blue murder against Essien? if you did, you have every right to rant about this sending off..
give credit where it is due... give vilification where it is due too... fairly..
