UCL: Chelsea v Barcelona

it wont be easy to keep a clean sheet against barcelona.
on current form, over 2 legs i feel barcelona still has the slight edge.
chelsea has been leaking goals in the last few matches against much weaker oppositions.
i hope the lousy pitch wont affect the quality of the match.
and hopefully no rain please!!! -

having to play that joker of a defender in carvalho just sucks..
i would rather essien be playing though,we need more physical strength inside..
but we can score against them..just dun concede.. -

Playing Barca is difficult enough, to be down to 10 men barely past 35mins into the game (again, yet another controversial decision, yet another Scandinavian ref
) ... I thought Chelsea did a fine job.

Not quite controversial. From tv, it seemed that one Chelsea player landed his boot INTO Messi's stomach. -

a 1 goal deficit is not so bad considering they played with 10-men only after 35 mins.

if not puyol would have been sent off for hacking down robben liao in the 2nd half..
and it was not a str red card against del horno..reckless challenge earns u a yellow card..
dangerous tackles gives u a red card..this is the difference..
nvm..i believe with all the anger inside us we can go to nou camp and whacked them hard..get puyol sent off best..that player so dirty in defending like another carvalho.. -

Damn disappointed by the sending off man..Not that i support chelsea but that it could have been a cracking game esp the half half..
Chelsea have always managed to turn up the heat in the second half..The tactics was screwed...
Mourinho could have left cole in as i felt he seemed like the creative spark that can unlock the barca def. And duff could have come on in the 2nd half to add some width. But with a man down they could only apply mass defending to keep the scoreline down.
What a sham man...But IMO, i just could not see the intent from del horno to injure cause grievous injury to messi. And certainly the ref looked shaky before pulliong out the red after strong protests by the barca team.
But this is soccer and the better team on the night won...i looked forward to the 2nd game with and chelsea will win it to go thru..

in a match as evenly matched as this a sending off will tip the balance. the tackle did not warrant a sending-off. under most circumstances a yellow card would suffice.
what does essien's tackle, del horno's sending off and reina's sending off have to do with each other? they are different matches!!! -

btw, the ball was about a few yards away when del horno tried to maim messi the second time...
THEN del horno rolled around trying to earn some sympathy from the ref who wasn't having any of it..
the red card was justified even when messi was play-acting.. because it was idiotic.. and even if it "wasn't malicious", it warranted heck of a lot more than just a yellow because del horno sure as heck wasn't going for the ball...
