Reports have it that it is almost certain that Michael Ballack will join Chelsea after this season. It will make Chelsea's midfield one of the best around :

So what if we have enough........... -
other teams go for best 11 with some good subs. Chelsea go for best 22.
I feel that manutd should buy ballack. They need a good central midfielder ever since roy keane left. If they can buy ballack from right under the nose of jose mourniho, it will deal a huge blow to chelsea.
btw i am neither a manutd nor chelsea fans. Of the two, i rather support chelsea. this is just my point of view. -

ManU MAY steal Ballack from under Chelsea's nose. Ballack may be using Chelsea to improve his pay packag cos any club that wants to sign him would probably need to be close to what Chelsea can offer which is a lot. -
I think it would be good for van bommel if he goes to bayern to replace ballack

Have you seen him play before?
That guy is like one of the best midfielder around, technically. Definitely better than Lampard in ALL areas.
What's so amazing about him would probably be his accurate passing/crossing with either left or right foot. -
Used to see him as one of best midfielders in europe, but now i think I have a second thought.

but when chelsea came up against bayern munich last year,it is obvious who shone brightest..
ballack is not reknowned for his crossing but his goalscoring and his headers..
but still i would not buy a player and give him wages exceeding that of the top 2 players who play their hearts out for chelsea each game..
90k should be the limit..unless john terry and lampard salary rise again.. -
Agree that Ballack is a good player but I guess professional footballers know what it is like to be paid more or less than one another.
SWP, Carlton Cole and Duff are paid $$$$$$ for sitting on the bench more than actually playing.
Anyway, dun feel right that Ballack may be paid so much. Only reason why Chelsea is willing to pay that much is that he is on free transfer. -

can you fault him for being money-minded? life of a footballer is short. make the most out of it. with all other factors being equal, the one offering the largest carrot tips it.
