  Chelsea are ready to splash out £10 million on Sevilla fullback Daniel Alves.
  The Mirror says Liverpool thought they had tied up a deal to land the 23-year-old in the summer, only to back away when the Spanish side did not lower their £12m valuation. But while Chelsea will not open the bidding at that level, their bottomless pockets will allow Jose Mourinho to make the signing he considers necessary in the transfer window.
  
  Chelsea are still without a first-choice right-back, with Cameroon ace Geremi, a converted midfielder, filling the role now after Mourinho lost faith in Paulo Ferreira and Khalid Boulahrouz.

  no but he can only be used as center back
  
  he is not as good in right back and left back even though he claim that he can play those positions but change his mind later when jose try him a few matches @ right back and failed badly as can be seen =/

  But somehow I'm still unconvinced despite his good performance. Perhaps his best position isn't in the backline.

  Paulo Ferreria looks kind of weak and slow. Geremi isn't supposed to be a defender in the first place. Boularouz should be in the CB. Thus Chelsea really need a good RB.

  a good player is not necessarily suitable for their playing style.
