Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes Chelsea's domination over the last two seasons has had a lot to do with luck.
The Blues are six points behind United after a third successive draw at Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
And Ferguson feels the champions' luck is deserting them at the wrong time as the Red Devils get back to full-strength with key players returning from injury.
"That's maybe Chelsea's luck changing," Ferguson told Inside United.
"They've had some incredible fortune in the last couple of years, scoring in the last minute against Wigan and Spurs last season, scoring in the first two minutes against us at the end of last season, things like that.
"For us, I don't think we've had any real luck in games. In terms of injuries we started off without the full squad - Gaby Heinze wasn't fit, we've had problems with Gary Neville, then Ji-sung Park and Ole got injuries.
"But we've coped really well because the squad has got stronger and more experienced so when players are out we're handling it much better."

Lampard denies Chelsea crisis

Frank Lampard has rubbished claims Chelsea are in crisis after dropping four points in the last two games.
Lampard said: "Ourselves and Manchester United know the situation now and there is still a long way to go.
"I am confident we can pull the gap back. There are many points to play for and we've got a lot of confidence in this team. That's the reason we've been champions two years on the trot.
"It is important we carry on doing the right things. Slight things haven't gone our way. You can't dwell on that. You just have to wait for it to turn a little bit and I am sure it will.
"People only get carried away because of the standards we have set for the past two seasons. It is quite normal to have periods in a season where it doesn't quite go for you.
"At one stage last season I think at one stage we were 15 points clear of the Manchester Uniteds and Liverpools and then all of a sudden we had a little blip and it was down to six or seven points at one point.
"You have to look at the big picture rather than just a few games.
"I think Sir Alex Ferguson as well as Jose Mourinho is wise enough to know there is a long way to go.
"The pair of them talk after games which gives out some headlines - but at the end of the day the football will do the talking."
Lampard added: "There is nothing major wrong.
"Sometimes you have to remind yourselves as a team that it is nothing major because the fact people are asking questions after two or three draws is a statement about what a team we are and what a squad we are.
"It is certainly not a crisis. It is something we need to address because we are not used to drawing games and not getting three points for three games on the trot.
"We are used to winning games and we want to win games again." -

remember ballack's free kick goal? (cannot remember the opposing team) it hit the woodwork and then the back of the goalkeeper before entering the net.
isnt that luck?
every team need or have a bit of luck on their way to winning a title or cup. you can never win a cup or championship with just skill alone. it is just not possible.
of course, that does not mean the team won it on luck alone, skill and hardwork is necessary too. -

@ least Lampard found the space to shoot even if deflected and went in it does not mean luck it just mean that he shoot many times and this time deflected into the back of the net
it is the law of averages just like C.Ronaldo and Lampard Shoot so many times surely they would get goals as they are able to find space for themselves to shoot on goal -

Chelsea ace Didier Drogba has blasted Alex Ferguson for claiming Chelsea have been lucky in the past.
The Manchester United boss feels fortune has finally deserted the Blues after injuries and three draws in a row dented their title hopes.
But Chelsea striker Drogba said: "We have got a great team and are really working hard. It's funny to attribute hard work to luck.
"The second half of the season will be for the real champions to show their worth."
