  Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been handed new transfer cash for the winter market as a peace-offering from the board.
  
  The Sun says a compromise has been brokered by chief executive Peter Kenyon which will allow a new defender to be bought this month.
  
  If Blues boss Mourinho is satisfied with the olive branch, all discussion about his future at the club will be postponed until after the season has finished.
  
  The Blues boss will be asked to speak only about football matters and both sides will put an end to the public bickering which has erupted in the past three weeks.
  
  The Portuguese coach has yet to agree to the truce offer and will wait to see if club powerbrokers honour the pledge by signing a player who he has recommended.
  
  The Chelsea manager's first choice is Micah Richards.

  har....a compromise. He gets no striker but a defender...but the damage is done is it? I think this is only temporary to stave off the inevitable....

  I think the defence is top priority for the moment. Chelsea offence is more than good enough to challenge any team. Until John Terry returns, the defence is to be bolstered.
