My Story

  thus began a bus journey that iwould never forget for the rest of my life..
  
  we chatted face-to-face on the bus...i walked her home..and agreed to meet later that evening at the park near where we stayed

  we arrange to meet at 8pm that night...and subsequently we met often at 8pm...
  
  when we met...it was surprisingly that we had alot of things to talk abt.....
  
  we felt comfortable with one another..I felt we were drawing closer..but i was proven wrong much later

  initially we met up only once a week, then it became more...we ended up meeting almost every evening..
  
  we talked abt manythings, we sang songs together..our favourite songs..that 3..if she can still remembers them

  oh yes...i missed out something...one event...
  
  Valentine Day...
  
  it was raining that day....i ran all the way inthe rain to buy that stalk of flower...and ran all the way to her house and waited for her in the rain...i was just standing near her room ...if she peeped out of her window, she would have saw me...
  
  but she din..
  
  i called her when i got home..told her i would pass the flower to her in school

  but the following day, she did not want to accept the flower...she felt awkard to carry a flower all around the school..so she rejected..
  
  what happened to that stalk of flower then? i am sure u would ask..
  
  well, i just gave it to my classmate..and i dunno what he did to it after school

  we carried on meeting almost every evening until when i was abt to be enlisted into the army..
  
  i can still remember the night before i was enlisted..we met as usual..we talked abt many things..i told her i was worried...not abt her, but more abt the guys around her..she assured me that she wun be interested in them

  i was enlisted....happily knowing that she would wait for me..2 and 1/2 years is not too long, but neither is it short...anything could happen..
  
  i missed u so then in the army...and whenever i got the chance i would call u on the public phone...i even begged my platoon to give my them chance of calling so i could call u more often ..

  everything was silent, peaceful before a storm..
  
  do u still remember the few movies that we watched together? one of which, i walked all the way from orchard to that place to get it...and we both cried cos the movie was so touching...
  
  and the next one..we watched 2 movies in a row...
  
  i would never forget them

  i was young then, and u need sense of security ...and i was lacking in it...
  
  u gave me too many a chance, or did i just dreamt them up...but i did not grab hold of them...if i could turn back the clock, i would..i will...
  
  i also wanted u to be proud of me...i worked hard during my BMT...and i would like to tell u...i did make it to OCS...
