This is an edited version of the official league table of teaching standards compiled by the Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training (http://www.dest.gov.au/) An explanation of the scaling method follows the table:

The scaling method used in preparing this league table has five components:
1) CEQ (Course experience questionnaire) generic skills: 17.91% weighting
2) CEQ good teaching: 18.5%
3) CEQ overall satisfaction: 18.9%
4) Students in full-time employment after they graduate: 11.48%
5) Those that go on to full-time study: 10.29%
6) Drop-out or attrition rates: 10.65%
7) Student progress or pass rates: 12.26%

Universities are ranked on seven criteria including student feedback, drop-out and pass rates, along with the percentage of graduates in full-time employment and those going on to further full-time study.
It is a public relations boon for those universities on top of the list – like Wollongong in New South Wales- and a nightmare for those at the bottom, such as University of Southern Queensland (USQ), RMIT, Central Queensland University (CQU), University of South Australia (UniSA).
There is a lot of student concern with issues such as a class size, which are quite large at the moment; 20 , 30 students with one academic staff and itÂ’s really unfair on the staff and itÂ’s really impacting on the experience for the students.- [list=]
