SM Entertainment has finally finalized the cast for its adaptation of Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana Kimi) which is called To the Beautiful You. The cast is a combination of two idols in the lead, Sulli from f(x) playing the role of Ashiya Mizuki and Minho from SHINee as Sano Izumo, plus two young actors Lee Hyun Woo as Nakatsu Shuichi and Kim Ji Won as the token second female lead.

Also joining the cast is L of Infinite and Hwang Kang Hee (of ZE:A). For the adult characters, supposedly Ki Tae Young has signed on, and rumors have Jang Dong Gun’s wife Ko So Young in talks to join the cast. Beautiful You premieres in August on SBS following Ghost. It will be directed by the PD who did Boys Over Flowers(Korean Hana Yori Dango), Witch Amusement, and My Girl, and written by the screenwriter for High Kick 2 and 3 as well as Once Upon a Time in Saengchori. Hana Kimi is the story of a girl cross-dressing to join an all-boys boarding school to encourage her star athlete crush to regain his sporting mojo.

New upcoming drama, Arang and the Magistrate, has its premiere pushed back by three weeks, now premieres 15 August Wednesday. :(

Arang and the Magistrate is based on famous folklore, as all ghost stories are: During the Joseon era in the city of Milyang, Arang was the pure, beautiful, good-hearted daughter of a magistrate. (Magistrates figure into a LOT of Korean folklore, as they are the local men of power, and often depicted as abusing said power or meeting some untimely demise.) She grew up without a mother, and was raised by a wicked caretaker who conspired to have her be raped and ruined by a servant. He attacked and she resisted, so he stabbed and killed her, and left her body to rot in the woods. Her father the magistrate just believed that she eloped with a man (dishonorably, of course) and so resigned his position swathed in shame. Thus the legend goes that every time a new magistrate comes to Milyang to fill the position, Arang’s vengeful ghost shows up to tell him her story and he flees in terror. But one day a new magistrate comes to town — a young man by the name of Lee Sang-sa. Arang appears to him like every other magistrate before him, but this man doesn’t flee, and instead sympathizes with Arang, and promises to find her killer and avenge her death.

Shin Mina (My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho) as the Arang and Lee Jun-ki (Iljimae, Hero) will play the Magistrate. :)

New tvN drama, 'Answer me, 1997', is a throwback 90s eight-episodes long drama, which features a group of 18 years old teenagers in 1997, meanwhile the story unfolds in the form of a flashforward, where we meet them all again in the present 2012, as 33 years old adults. They gather for a high school reunion dinner, and among them, a couple announced that they are getting married, and the question quickly zoomed in to: how did their relationship survives through the 15 years gap?! This cute and quirky drama gets a How I Met Your Mother-esque setup. :)

Just finished watching Rooftop Prince. The ending is so sad.... Lee Gak died in Joseon alone

New drama, "Horse Doctor"/"Horse Healer" follows a veterinarian in the Joseon Period as he goes through difficulties to become a royal physician, you will certainly like this if you've previously enjoyed watching Dae Jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace).

Popular ’90s high-school drama series School is getting a modern remake, and the 2012 version produced by Bae Yong-joon (Keyeast/Contents K) has landed a broadcast slot in December on KBS. School was an immensely popular series that was first shown in 1999, featuring fresh young faces and dealt with realistic issues teenagers faced in high school. It went on to air four seasons total with a new cast of characters each time. School is slated to air on Monday-Tuesday on KBS, following Oohlala Spouses.

Mickey Yoochun (Rooftop Prince) will be starring in an upcoming melodrama, "I Miss You", alongside with Yoon Eun-hye (Goong, Coffee Prince) as first loves who are cruelly separated as teenagers and meet again as adults. We’ve got a pair of 15-year olds in love who get torn apart and carry with them some deep emotional scars. Then they meet again as adults — he’s a cop and she’s a fashion designer — and old scars get reopened. Prepare your tissue papers, guys. I Miss You follows Arang and the Magistrate, and premieres in November on MBC.

Actors playing actors in dramas and making fun of themselves always hits the spot, be sure to catch King of Dramas (above), also starring Siwon (Super Junior) as Kang Hyun-Min, who is hilarious in this drama, displaying a variety of facial expressions alone is a crack-up. Siwon's Kang Hyun-Min really is as shallow as he appears, he's totally vain and absurd, yet suffocating viewers with his awesome cuteness!!

Haha. Jaejoong also has been quite active in acting (Dr Jin, Jackal is Coming etc.), except for Junsu, I've only seen him once when he made a cameo appearance in 'the Scent of a Woman', and it wasn't even considered acting because he was playing himself. -
