I'm particularly interested in aikido, but there are so many different websites (ueshiba, kiaikido etc etc) and I can't see the difference between any of the styles right now >.> and a bit expensive. Is $95 per three months worth it though? I was thinking it's pretty okay, but my brother is all "WAH DAMN EXPENSIVE WAH WANNA DIE IS IT." and there's the gi etc etc.Originally posted by NewAge:oh yah what do u wanna learn? Karate? Hapkido? So why are wushu stances useful in a fight?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Most common martial arts courses in CC are Wushu, Chen/Yang style Taijiquan and TKD.
But I can tell you for Wushu, the skills learnt are useless, except of the stances. That's only if you practised them.
For TKD, unsure. Never joined a class.
If you want those rare martial arts... then you have to search around Singapore. NewAge has a compiled list, of which he has given link.
There is a Class called Bukkake , I believe it's taught at some of the CCs .Originally posted by neeeon:What types of martial arts are currently being taught in CCs all over Singapore? And are they any good? Some of my friends are all "Che, cheapskate course." and others insist that they're not too bad. I'm interested in signing up in a class so please do help me out with whatever courses are still accepting enrolments.
Or, if there is any "official school" for these classes besides CCs, I'd like some info on them too
Thank you!
So you'll be the uke in the class?Originally posted by NotFromVenus:There is a Class called Bukkake , I believe it's taught at some of the CCs .

If your foundation for stances are strong, they will find it hard to topple you over. That's the main aim of fight, once you fall and don't recover in time, you will be dead.Originally posted by NoRiceBoys:So why are wushu stances useful in a fight?
well i dunno what stance mayi referring to? House stance? Mei Hua bu fa? The crane one? Like what mayi say all stance make yr leg stronger so that u are hard to topple. Well one of the worst thing that can happen in a street fight is u falling.Originally posted by NoRiceBoys:So why are wushu stances useful in a fight?

Mayi, plse be sensitive towards other martial arts. No martial artists should look down on other martial arts.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Most common martial arts courses in CC are Wushu, Chen/Yang style Taijiquan and TKD.

the stance gives you the balance but impedes mobility.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:If your foundation for stances are strong, they will find it hard to topple you over. That's the main aim of fight, once you fall and don't recover in time, you will be dead.
At least if you remain standing, you could easily move your leg forward or backward and prepare to run when things go wrong or when you know you can't continue the fight.

There is no place in Aikido for pettiness and selfish thoughts. Rather than being captivated by notions of "winning or losing," seek the true nature of things. Your thoughts should reflect he grandeur of the universe, realm beyond life and death. If your thoughts are antagonistic towards the cosmos, those thoughts will destroy you and wreak havoc on the environment.
Not exactly. It actually depends on you yourself.Originally posted by chanjyj:the stance gives you the balance but impedes mobility.
