Recently, I heard of SpyGuard, SpyTrooper and SpyAxe, what's the use of such software? Find it darn expensive...
Is Adaware, SpyDoctor v3.1 and SpyBot S/D enough to clear up the mess? -

as long as u bother to update the latest definitions and run the program at least once a week
spybot and adaware are the tested and proven ones
sites that have high chances of spyware and adware are porn sites, game sites..... -

Did you try Spytrooper or SpyTrooper? Spytrooper is a spyware. Have you installed this program?

Thanks for the advice. I was prompted and redirected. Thankfully I did not buy the software, though they seem rather convincing in the first place. My computer was hijacked, and I didn't set up a firewall in the first place. Fortunately enough, I got Adaware to clear up half the mess, and then get Avast to do the rest of the job. You have to talk to/PM the admin (Jason) of these forums.
However, if you are using Firefox, theres an extension called Smiley Xtra which allows you to post many different types of smileys by just double clicking it on a list. -

1stly, I find Firefox a safer and faster browser. Internet Explorer uses ActiveX, which has proven very prone to spyware/adware based on my experience. I only use Internet Explorer when visiting Microsoft website for Windows Update
2ndly, Firefox has the tabbing function(Ctrl+T), which will only be available to Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista. There will be IE7 for XP but its not released yet.
3rdly, lots of extensions and skins available at http://addons.mozilla.org to add mre functionality to Firefox.
Lastly, Internet Explorer doesn't support .png image files fully. The transparent parts will be replaced with light blue colour, like what you see at my CCA's blog, the navigation buttons.
