Adobe Acrobat & Gliffy - no relationship?
I would think Gliffy is more of an alternative to MS Visio.
Microsoft Office 2007 and iConv - again, no link. Just another converter IMO.
Live Messenger and Live Web Messenger - LOL. My preferred alternative to Live Messenger is aMSN. There are others like Pidgin, Miranda and Trillian.
Anyway, enough of my crap.
Here are some free Wordpad replacement programs. If you have no need to use a Word program or want something better just plain text.
TextShield, works on XP and 2000. Not tested on Vista or Windows 9x or Windows ME.
One glaring bug of this program is the lack of scrollbars. You have to press the page up/down buttons or arrow buttons to navigate around the whole document. Irks me enough as my documents are always long and scrolling using this method is really irritating. And your mouse scroll button will not work.
Other than that, it works fine. It hasn't been in development as you can tell from the website... so features are just as it is. If you need a simple one, this one is good enough.
Next one... Ultra-Pad. This one works on Vista. Only thing, kindly do not work in skin mode, because the resolution will be badly screwed up in skinning mode. Use Windows default skin and the resolution is fine.
Another thing to note if you insist on skinning mode. In Vista, the whole menu disappears, apparently due to Windows Aero effects. Just click on the black bar of the program and you will see the menu.
In skinning mode, the scrollbars are also in weird position. Your choice.
any freeware for merging of mp3s?
