The next generation of Windows operating system. Are you going to get it once its out? Is it going to be anymore safer than Windows XP when it first started?
I'm going to sit back and observe for quite a while before I get it. Hell, I may even stick to my Windows XP forever. Its system requirements are higher and you need to have a good graphic card to run it. All those Aero themes and animation gonna take a toll on your RAM as well.
The latest news I heard is that they are taking steps to ensure driver-related crashes are reduced ( I never update my drivers. My motto is "Don't repair anything that isn't broken" ) by moving drivers, even the graphics, out of OS kernel, which is Ring 0.
Furthermore, there'll also be Red Screen Of Death (RSOD) alongside with the infamous Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) in Windows XP, red representing a more serious error.
Better or worse? What do you think?

Visually, it is definitely better.
Other than that, all have to wait. I am not rushing into it also. I am waiting for around a year or two and see how the world reacts to it. If the comments are bad, I am sticking to my XP until a better version comes out. All the aero effects can be created using external software like WindowBlinds. -

Ok if I ask a pretty dumb question?
Do they actually programme the RSOD and BSOD to appear in the case of a serious error, or is it just a bug in the programme? -

They started out using the name Longhorn. Then when they going to release beta for testers they rename to Vista
BSOD and RSOD is programmed to appear. They appear in cases of serious errors so as to provide error codes to assist in troubleshooting the problems. -
Microsoft should be put on blame lor...produce so many Windows Editions, then in the end still got another one after another. They should concentrate on one and make it better. Look at winxp, suck like hell. Virus here and there...Haiz, so i doubt whether windows vista will be good.

Many companies are either switching to Linux or staying at Windows 98 or NT. Maybe the polys and uni should consider having a diploma and degree in Linux respectively. Not just as an elective. -
