Sidebar on display in next Vista preview
As more computer users move to larger, wide-screen monitors, Microsoft is staking a claim to that added real estate.
Windows Vista, the update to the operating system due this year, will add a feature called Sidebar. Sidebar is a small panel at the side of the monitor that can be used to view photo slide shows, RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds and other small programs, dubbed gadgets.

Trojan creates havoc
A Trojan horse disguised as a spam message from an antivirus company is making its rounds, security vendor Sophos has warned. The e-mail, which carries an attachment, appears to be sent from Helsinki-based security vendor F-Secure, the company said in a statement on its Web site. It comes with various subject headers, such as "Firefox Browsing Problem," "Mozilla Browsing Problem," or "Website Browsing Problem." -

Apple Sued Over Hearing Loss Claims
A LOUISIANA man is suing Apple for flogging an iPod which could make him deaf in the future. According to PattersonÂ’s complaint, Apple makes the iPod so that it can produce sounds of more than 115 decibels, a volume that can damage the hearing of a person exposed to the sound for more than 28 seconds per day.
This is just dumb. Another pointless lawsuit when Apple has its iPods ship with a warning that "permanent hearing loss may occur if earphones or headphones are used at high volume".
