Process to reformat my computer

How do i go about?
I would like to "backup" a couple of folders...namely, my warcraft and wow folder..
How to go about? step by step can?

I am using XP Pro -
Disconnect your internet. Newly reformatted systems can kena slaughtered by the internet within 20mins.
Insert the reformatting CD before your computer starts up, or insert before you restart.
Make sure your system boots from the CD Drive before it boots from the hard disk. To change bootup order, go to BIOS settings. Press a button when it starts up, usually shown on screen which button isit.
When you start up with the CD inside your drive, There will be words instead of the Windows Loading screen. If it shows up Windows 98, it is actually reading the CD rom.
Next will be a low resolution menu asking what you want to do. Reformat your computer will be one of them.
Click on it and it'll ask whether you want to partition the harddisk or leave it as it is.
Then after that it'll run by itself. If theres a few CDs altogether, you need to change the disc when it tells you to. If your running from DVD, you can let it run while you go watch your favourite television programme.
It'll then show you a screen asking you to set your internet settings and registering your copy of Windows. Skip it. And make sure your internet is disconnected until you install security programs like anti virus and firewall
Its ready to rumble.
The above instructions does not include activation Windows. I have no idea when the activation screen will come up. But copies of Windows given by computer companies (Acer, HP, Dell etc.) are all activated. -

do you mean your saved games?
I am not so sure whether this can be done. But important documents definitely can be backup.
If you have a thumbdrive, copy all your files to your thumbdrive.
If you have some blank CDs, just burn your files to these CDs.
After that, follow chanff8's instruction to reformatting your computer. -

Thought about partitioning your HD? I always leave around 10 gig of space for my OS and the rest my own personal files and backups. That way, you can always reformat or change OSes anytime without any loss.Originally posted by Master -_-:How do i go about?

Step 2 Eject computer out of Windows -
Yea thats one convenient way to keep your files even after reformatting.
