how many GHZ and ram?
which one in the list do u recommend to me?Originally posted by chanff8:Its dual-core 2.? GHz. Can't see clearly. RAM not included
You buying Pentium D? It is a dual core processor. Needs at least 512MB of RAM to function. It is 3GHz and above.Originally posted by ceecookie:is this good? (red box)

I'm guessing that they are only providing you with the motherboard+processor. You have to look for the other components yourselfOriginally posted by ceecookie:which one in the list do u recommend to me?
The many Asuses is the RAM?
then there's the casing and all?
budget of 700-1200
Casing have to be bought separately. The word bundle usually means that it has the processor, video card is integrated, sometimes got sound card integrated into it.Originally posted by ceecookie:which one in the list do u recommend to me?

oh ok following ur recommedation of a performace PC and adding every necessery components how much would it be?Originally posted by nightzip:ok, for motherboard, mobo depends on your CPU also,
e.g. a pentium 840 D chip or 600 series processor chip have to use 815 mobo and above.
mobo brands include MSI (micro-star), ASUS, etc....
its good that you choose a graphics card that do not use shared ram. I believe you need 512mb graphics card because you need it to render CADCAM graphics or animation or simulation stuff.
If you need a performance PC, i recommend 3.4Ghz processor chip, i.e. 640 series above, and graphics card ATI 512Mb. (remember that large ram doesnt mean it will render the graphics fast, you also need to check GPU speed and cache channel ram speed).![]()
Its dual core, 800 series, its 2.8GHz...very good liao...but price will come down very very soon, after feb...now buy abit x though.Originally posted by chanff8:Its dual-core 2.? GHz. Can't see clearly. RAM not included
Originally posted by nightzip:then basically you only need a super duper processor unit can liao.
approx. cost $800 (for simple purposes)
$1000 (better, good for undergrads, grads, excutives, doing some power gaming, simple CADCAM drawing, multi-tasking)
mine is $1700+ JUST for the processor.for simulation purposes.
Basic parts:
1). CPU
2). PSU (power supply unit)
3).mobo
4). Graphics card
5). Physical Ram (e.g. Kingston, 1Gb or 512Mb)
6). CD-ROM drive or DVD drive (cuz you dun want a computer where you couldnt even install windows,, cuz no drive!
)
7). HDD (hard disk drive) average people 100Gb ok, if you need more buy more. Other accessories, like system fans, cooling units, casing, wireless, modems, sound card, speakers, etc)
. Your own
copy of Microsoft windows XP, unless you want to spend $150+ for a brand new version
After that, remember to install anti-virus, microsoft office, etc
