According to Mac Rumors, 3 hours and 10mins to Macworld Expo.
Its time to start speculating what Steve Jobs will be introducing this year. Last year, he introduced the Mac Mini and iPod Shuffle. This year, some people said the first line of IntelMacs will be released while some say the iPod Shuffle will be phased out or updated.
So far, a guy by the name of Kevin Rose posted on his blog about:
15" intel Macbook - order tomorrow, ships Feb (thinner, dual core)
{iBook or PowerBook, I have no idea. Some are guessing they may combine these 2 series, very unlikely}
iPod FM receiver
iWork/Life '06
New remote of some type
Photocasting (iPhoto)
OS X.4.4 w/new widgets
I'm waiting...

Anyway, at the time of 2:35am, Apple has made the following announcements (not all are listed, dead tired now)
1. iPod (5G/Nano) FM Tuner and remote
2. Mac OS 10.4.4
3. iLife and iWork 06 (new additions like iWeb and photocasting)
4. Intel iMac!!! Using Intel Core Duo chips, suppose to be 2-3 times faster.
5. Powerbook is now dead,
now new 15.4inch MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo chip suppose to be 4-5 times faster, with lots of new features like iSight built in, IR remote and receiver for Front Row, magsafe (eg. magnetic power cord), thinnest laptop yet. -

Ok, im gonna give a brief update...
Not 1, but TWO lines of systems have implemented Intel processors!!!
First! iMac G5, dual core Intel processor, benchmarking shows up to 2-3x increase in performance! Shipping TODAY!!! Each core is faster than a PowerPC G5 processor! S$ 2,388 for 17-inch 1.83GHz and S$ 3,088 for 20-inch 2GHz
Second! New MacBook Pro (Bad name, yea) is the new line of portable Macs introduced. Its dual core Intel processors. 1-inch thin (thinner than the current PowerBook models, has ATI x1600, 667 DDR bus, iSight built-in, Front Row, 5.6lbs, 15.4" LCD, 67% brighter, 4-5x faster than the previous model!!! S$ 3,688 for 1.67GHz Core Duo and S$ 4,588 for 1.83GHz! Shipping in Feb

It was somewhat surprised to see a Intel Based laptop in such a short time after it was announced last year.
It does look promising and seems that Apple has taken steps to ensure the apps designed for PowerPC works on the new Intel based MacPro as well via Rosetta. With a Intel Dual core.... it will be fast indeed (4X).
Yeh, the name sounds bad really. Not very cutting edge.

I've watched the keynote in school just now. Steve Jobs literally pwned IBM PowerPC chips... I love the ad too. "Stuck in a PC, now they will be set free"
And Apple stocks rose like mad last night. It was hovering around 79-80 and when Steve announced the IntelMacs, it zoomed to 81.67 -
Yeh, I noticed the Apple Store Asia is still touting the 'new' Powerbooks. hahaha. Maybe they have their customer's concern in mind cos they will be folks who are not ready to move over to Intel Based MacPro. PowerPC by Motorola under-delivers the processing speed Jobs was hoping for, to compete head on with PC counterparts.
It's Intel chips inside but OS is still very much Tiger. The much needed speed bumps are great!
