i just checked the MSN website and it is still 7.5 which is the latest version.
in order to reduce the risks of getting virus, i suggest everyone either use 7.5 first to wait for 8.0 to officially come out, or if you are annoyed of the nudges, use Trillian which disables nudges and combines MSN Messenger with ICQ and Yahoo messenger. -

Check Ebay, people are actually selling them. When the invites were first put up for auction, they were sold for around 15 USD.
