HELP !! My Computer Screen is spoilt.!!!!

  My screen has turned from 800 by 600 resolution to 600 by 800 resolution*. Can some one tell me how to turn it back to 800 by 600 resolution? Tried changing it but the only put 768 by 1024 or 600 by 800 . no 1204 by 768 or 800 by 600.

  Using a laptop? Most laptops have 2 kinds of screen resolutions.
  
  The first one is Multiple monitors, so that you can show presentations on the screen as well as view it on your own laptop.
  
  The second one is default. It works like the normal PC. For this option, it has lots of screen resolutions for you to choose.
  
  Try changing it to the multiple monitors option. See if it helps.

  i am using a desktop computer and a CRt monitor.

  So is it screen resolution wrong (600 x 800 instead of 800 x 600) or tilted screen? Did you adjust the monitor size using those up down buttons on the monitors?
  
  You making me confused man.
  
  Tilted screen can be adjusted using the up down buttons on your monitor. Check your monitor manual on how to adjust it back. Or, just change the settings back to default. Everything would be okay.
  
  As for the wrong screen resolution, I think you changed some settings. It happened to me also, so I reset the CMOS, reformatted the computer and got everything back.

  My resolution has changed from 800 by 600 to 600 by 800. How do I switch it back ... It just switched automatically when I was sufing SGforums. (buses)

  Yours happen while surfing websites, while I accidentally changed some settings. The solution I provided might not work.
  
  But anyway, you can try it.

  BTW : what is CMOS?

  Malfunctioning graphic card will have some symptoms to tell you that it is going to spoil. You will notice it when you play graphics-intensive games. The response rate is slower and probably colour is off. For example, red looks like dark pink.

  ur screen is rotated till like dat ah ok try system restore...restore to a point before this prob occurs...den see how...den try playin around and exploring your monitor settings..

  u hav a graphics card?if u hav try this(mine is nvidia)
  right click desktop, go properties,go 2 de tab 'settings', advance,now there's a window with many tabs.1 of the tabs has your graphics card name on it (for example(Nvidia geforce 6600...etc)..as mine is nvidia, when i click on the tab a new window come up.on the left side there are many options. one of dem is 'screen resolutions and refresh rates.now deres a ' custom resolution and refresh rates section. Try entring your desired resolution
  
  This is for me as i have a Nvidia ;graphuics card.If u hav a nvidia graphics card with latest drivers installed, hopefully this works for you.

  Last time I encountered this problem no such thing as system restore because it is Win 98. Then did whatever I can to restore it.

  Ok I have updated the driver and the screen is fixed ... Thanks guy/gals !!
  
  It was me having an outdated driver that caused me to have this problem.
