downloading by Infrared port

can anyone tell me how do i download pix from HP by infrared port....i have this infrared port install at the computer, it shows successfully installed....
by when i try to send the pix from my hp by infrared, it shows connection failed, no device found....
errrr what have i missed?? how do you activate this infrared thing installed at the computer???

is there a need to obtain a sony eric software to instal in the computer actually???
or does the infrar port supposed to just work with any phone without bothering about the brand?? -

Go Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management.
Under Device Manager, find Infrared devices. Right click the device and select Properties. A pop up window will appear. Under Device usage, select Use this device (enable). Apply settings and try again. -

I also need one driver for my Infared port. But I do not know the model of the Infared port. I threw the box away a long time ago. Does Microsoft create any driver for the infared devices?

Depends on you see it. , take for example, those dictionary in the computer esp Chinese...now my girl can just type the HYPY or write on the pad the word and pop the meaning (can choose the language somemore) pop up and even can learn to read or how to write the word...yo....where got like my times find a word must count the stroke like siao........then when find the meaning, might not necessary know how to read still......
IT makes life easier but also ended up make you busier cos standards go up end up even more things to do......
so one leads to another.....is it better or for worst.....well well.... -

the computer can locate the handphone and was able to even transfer files to it...but the handphone cannot detect it....
but hp can send to another hp...
later went to download the file manager from sony ericsson ...then computer no longer can send files to the hp and vice verse....worst....

hmm is it you need to have the latest service pack for your OS?
