When you bought your computer? Before 2002, most likely using SDRAM. After 2002 most likely DDR RAM. Although they are basically RAM, they have different number of pins. Using the wrong RAM will damage your motherboard. You know your own motherboard model and brand? We can search the relevant RAM for you and then you buy the RAM yourself.Originally posted by derekho:my computer is rather slow in starting up and opening normal applications for quite sometime already... after installing stuff like registry mechanic, spyware removers and anti virus stuff... there is a slight improvement... but i thought that i should upgrade my 256 ram to a higher one...

I don't know how to use the Run command. Anyway, you should get a DDR RAM.Originally posted by derekho:im quite sure that i bought the computer after 2002... im using a acer computer... model is T300-26BF.. btw, is there a command to type under "run" to find out more about the ram???

Anything below 266MHz are SDRAM. Usually for computers bought before 2002. Anything above 266MHz will be DDR RAM.
