How to type and read chinese words on forums?

  okay i just want to use chinese words on other forums, ms words and read chinese words from the internet.

  There is a built-in Chinese typing software in Win XP itself.
  
  Go to Regional and Language settings, check Install file for East Asian languages (or something along that line). Then click on Details and add a new Language under language inputs. Select Chinese (PRC)
  
  Sorry I can't give you detailed steps for activating the Chinese input. Using Mac in school now

  Go to Start, Control Panel, Regional and Language Options.
  
  Make sure that Install files for East Asian Languages is checked. Then click on Details. Click on Add. Under Input Language, find Chinese (PRC). Click OK. Then click Language Bar.   I already pretty much know the steps already. I am just pissed that i bought a laptop but they didnt give me a win xp cd.
  
  My laptop already have language enabled but just not my desktop computer. I want to not only know how to view but type freely also...
  
  Saw a lot of chinese writing in chinese freely without copy and paste using nj star so i am really wondering what program i should use.

  Where did you buy the laptop? How come no Win XP CD? If don't have Win XP CD, most likely the distributors loaded a pirated XP on your laptop. Turn to the back of the laptop and find see if there is a sticker.

  OK i search and found that my xp cd was indeed provided. I have add chinese settings to it. Now i just need to press alt +shift to change language. I have also encode the language in internet explorer. I dont really like Mozilla. Now my concern is how do i type chinese in ms word let's say?

  Just press Alt + Shift to change the language. Open MS Word. Type in the hanyu pinyin of the Chinese word you want. Press the corresponding number. And presto! You've got the word.

  I didn't know MS Word can expire. In my years of using them without upgrading, never seen it expired. Still using MS Word 2000.
  
  Practically everything. Certain forums also let you do so. MS Paint also can write in Chinese.
  
  But notepad and wordpad doesn't seem to be able to do so.

  LOL, Chinese cannot be typed here. Just go to Paint, use their textbox and type in Chinese.

  Notepad can type chinese, just that you have to change some settings when you save the text file in order for the chinese words to appear correctly
