need help ~!Can windows read directory names in chinese char

  yoz ppl... i need some help here.. been trying to figure out this the whole night....
  
  My windows XP can't read directory names which in chinese, i suppose it's just this way for our version of windows...
  
  but i wanna try a chinese game.. successfully installed the client, but the patcher doesnt work, i think coz the directory's in chinese characters... but my windows can't read chinese (only for directories, i can view websites which are in chinese).
  
  Error message as shown below.....everything is so messed up..
  
  
  does anyone know how to enable windows to read directories which are in chinese characters?

  hmm... u mean don't need to configure the language thingy at the control panel?

  thanks...
  i see a little improvements...... but still.... the chinese characters are still weird.. there are alot of types.. like GB, BIG5... do u know which to choose? i'm kinda noob.. paisehz

  Use GB2312. It's simplified Chinese, which most of us are used to reading.

  sorry.. i tried both.. but they still give me the same thingy.. the printscreen error which in my 2nd post...

  Looking at the words, it looks like it is written in traditional Chinese characters. Try options 2 or 4.

  sianz.. its still not working... i can view chiinese words in IE.. but i still can't view chinese directory names.. and chinese words of files on my desktop...

  Why it never work? Argghh....
  
  Try another Chinese software. Don't believe all cannot work. If cannot, go buy Chinese OS then. Guaranteed to work.

  In certain chinese games, the chinese font is unreadable during installation. Most of times, it only happens during installation, should not have any problem during game time.
  
  Try the games and see if you can read the chinese wordings, if not, try using NJcom.
  
  Last solution, maybe you can try Chinese Star or Twin Bridge programs.
  
  I remember my frenZ told me before, he install Chinese Star software and he have no problems with the fonts.

  I tried very hard but still... lol hee..
  However,
  i managed to dl another patch and successful patched up the game..started playing just now .. but.. that game very bugged.. my screen kept on freezing!
  Give up liaoz ... i don' expect much from made in china stuffs..hehe

  If your game is very bugged & ur screen kept on freezing, maybe there is possiblity the game requires more rams.
