one general solution: subscribe to a faster 10mbps or 30mbps plan.....and unlimited unless u wanna pay for the xtras

If you use Firefox... Get downTHEMall as an extension. Works well for me.

Only cables are shared.
But many factors played in as well.
Internet website server.
No. of BT seeders.
Upload serve speed.
No of users clogging the website etc... -

Download is damn slow. From 80kb can drop to 10kb. Sometimes only 1 or 2. As good as dialup.
