Ask them check their connections. Those using wireless especially. Wireless signals can be strong or weak, and sometimes they are so weak that they will be disconnected. Also check for viruses and spywares.Originally posted by skeujin:recently my contacts who r tokg to me will kena d/c and cnt even msg me unless they close the existing chatbox n open a new one.

Better get a firewall. There are free ones like ZoneAlarm. And why office have no firewall? Is it your own business? For the last few weeks, intrusion attacks on Singnet increased dramatically.Originally posted by skeujin:ok situation is as such...
the d/c happens in both cases.
broadband home to home. no firewalls.
broadband office to office.
n this problems only surfaced during the last few weeks. no such occurance b4.
i thought it was due to my msn tt i downloaded to my office comp during the same period bt i updated the one at home n they both have the same settings now.
in knw i did some searches on the web n they told me tt it may b a firewall problem n readjust the settings. but weird tt it happens at home too.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Better get a firewall. For your home MSN, there's no need to configure to the same as office. The default settings would work. For office, it could be due to the proxy settings that companies have set, unless it's your own business, so there's no need to set anything.
ZoneAlarm doesn't have spyware, it's sending out messages secretly back to don't know where, which is a huge loophole in the software. Apparently solved, but actually not. Those malicious people can easily make use of this loophole and turn the firewall against you instead.Originally posted by skeujin:in knw i did some searches on the web n they told me tt it may b a firewall problem n readjust the settings. but weird tt it happens at home too.
and the thing is tt it does not happen to eveyone who contacts me... jus a select few....

home using pacnet n office using singnet. both w same settings. n i log off on either everytime.Originally posted by chanff8:First, both your home and office have the same settings right? Are the both of them using similar ISP? Does the disconnection of your contacts occur to those with similar ISP?
State clearly which type of disconnections your contacts are facing. It logs out automatically or it says that "You are temporary facing network problems and are no longer in this chat"?
Are your contacts who face disconnections using any MSN patches like Mess.be Patch or MSN Plus?
Keep your firewall on at all times...
Are you sure its your problem and not your friends' MSN problems?
Sorry for asking so many questions but the answers will help us find a solution to your problem faster.
Right now main thing is to confirm who is having problems with MSN, you or your contacts?
Ok, let me confirm. Everyone who uses Singnet and chats with you will be disconnected?Originally posted by skeujin:home using pacnet n office using singnet. both w same settings. n i log off on either everytime.
