switching from IE to firefox

hi... recently, i switched browsers from IE to mozilla firefox.
heres the problem that i encountered.
previously when i was still using IE, and when i clicked on a download link, my DAP would pop up and ask if i wanted to use it to dl.
now when i changed to firefox, it will use firefox's auto dl thingy which i find is 5 times slower than DAP still.. is there anyway that i can set it in a way where i can stop firefox from using its programme to dl the link, and use DAP instead? for instance, it would be good if i could disable the auto dl of firefox and enable the auto dl for DAP.
or is there no choice, other than to do this manually, by copying the link and then pasting it on DAP. -
DAP doesn't recognise firefox as a browser, but DAP does recognise the clicks you made in firefox, so you just have to copy the link then go to DAP and input the url link, but url link will already be there, so you just have to click ok. Don't ask me why, its just like that.

Try if this helps.
Open up Firefox. Go to Tools, Options. Select the Downloads tab. Uncheck 'Show Download Manager when a download begins'.
Click OK and restart Firefox. -

Why use external programs like DAP which contains adware as well when you can have a download manager built into Firefox?
