Help me!! Upgrading / changing Laptop

  Hi Guy,
  
  Currently using HP Pavilion ZE4300 Laptop.
  Spec are following:
  2.0 Ghz dunno what chip (forgot but think is AMD), 512 Ram, 30GB HDD, DVD (read) combo CDR-RW, Built in Wireless Lan, mini-fire wire, 2x USB 1 port, Screen is 15inch, others are standard.
  
  I have been using this for 2 years. There is absolutly no problem with the hard ware. Reason for thinking to change, it's becoming old, USB 1 is too slow for my USB disk & 30Gb internal HDD is small. Furthermore someone offer me SG$1600 for this old machine oversea. So me tempted to change.
  
  I am not very familiar with laptop industry. Please recommend me some tough ones. As I travel overseas a lot with it now. My main applications are: Internet, Mail reading, excel, Word & view tons of photographs. My budget is around SG$3500.

  Seems like Lenova 3000 also a good choice. Anyone have experiance? I do not see IBM have much advantage over Lenova, can anyone advise me?

  Lenovo has bought over IBM, so it's the same whether it's called IBM Thinkpad or Lenovo Thinkpad.

  can try get a lower-end APPLE.
  
  mine now is a Toshiba , made in phillipines.
  
  still, Acer is quite good..

  a new acer aspire with a build-in webcam, tats gd for overseas traveling, can see family or love ones with it
