That would only defeat physical keyloggers. There's one small enough to hide behind the keyboard via the USB port.Originally posted by korusu:actually i will suggest that when u access sensitive sites like banking or online shops, u shld enter data by means of the on screen keyboard if i am not wrong this cannot be captured by the logger?(coz u are just clicking on the screen)
Yes. Even antivirus can't detect virus accurately 100% of the time, don't expect the same for keyloggers.Originally posted by Blue Stardust:That mean there is no 100% way to detect unauthorised keylogger in our computer or have a any good anti-keylogger software to protect our system???
I do know that install firewall and anti-virus can help in some way, but not even close to 100%
I have checked on some of the anti-keglogger softwares, they claim that firewall and anti-virus can only protect up to 60-70%..Is it true?
so does norton.Originally posted by dark_snowboy:kaspher antivirus, sorry im not that sure how to spell it.
it detects keylogger software last time i used it
I have tried one....yes..it is true...those parental software's keyloggers are not included...that mean firewall and anti-virus accept those keyloggers, connection to our computer without even telling us...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Yes. Besides, they only detect common keyloggers. Just type in keylogger into Google, download anyone of them and install. Your antivirus will immediately popup. Parental software that contains keylogger software aren't detected, because they are legal, which is rubbish. That's where a few percent go.
With new ones popping up almost everyday, you don't expect antivirus companies to keep up. Another few percent gone.
The other inaccuracies depends on how obscure the keylogger is. Very obscure keylogger can't be detected even by the best software, unless you keep a log of your computer, what is installed, what is uninstalled, calculate the MD5 of every file, check your registry, etc.
Yup, that would be the way. But it would be too much work. Normally, if you follow the advice not to download anything without scanning and not downloading from unsecure and unknown websites, it would have helped a lot.Originally posted by Blue Stardust:I have tried one....yes..it is true...those parental software's keyloggers are not included...that mean firewall and anti-virus accept those keyloggers, connection to our computer without even telling us...
And i guess the best way is to do prevention then getting a best software, to update all the softwares...try to do maintain and scan everyday or couple of days...think this is the only way out....to reduce the risks.
