Screen goes blank/gets corrupted every now and then

Big big big headache
My screen goes blank for 1-3 seconds every now and then(every few minutes). Sometimes(not very often) display get corrupted but its reversible(e.g. by minimizing that specific window and restoring it again).
Updated chipset and BIOS and graphics card driver already. RAM card reassembled. Also reformatted my system.

Somebody please tell me the solution! I've been trying to fix it for months.

Your corrupted display, what do you mean by that? Distorted colours? Or blotchy images?
Have you tried using another graphics card? It could be your graphics card is spoilt. -
Nope...checked. definitely not screensaver...
Could be graphics card, could be monitor...sigh
Corrupted as in you can see the images being split into pieces and arranged in other ways if you know what I mean... -

How long do you keep your computer on per day? Maybe giving it a rest would help. -

Plug your graphics card into another computer and try. Or plug your monitor into another system

Update: Monitor turns off (power saving mode whereby the power indicator light flashes) while the computer is running. Tried moving the mouse but no use. Had to restart. I'm using Philips 17 inch CRT btw. Graphics card or monitor problem?

I really can't tell without you testing on another PC. Reformat your comp should solve everything.
