Try calling your own handphone with and without the microfilter. If there's no problem, then it's not the microfilter's fault. If you face problems while calling with the microfilter, it could be due to the microfilter.Originally posted by Yanzi_fan:Hi guys, after upgrading my internet service from 512 kbps to 3500 kbps, my internet kept disconnecting by itself every few minutes. doesnt matter for ethernet cable...Originally posted by Yanzi_fan:Hi guys, I dun think it's antivirus updating problem as i dun use antivirus software... Lancer, u are right. Singnet people will push blame back to us.
I was wondering, is the ethernet cable the same for 512kbps n 3500kbps? Or should I get a new cable?
I never say it is antivirus updating problem. I only say if you have problems updating, restart in Safe Mode then update.Originally posted by Yanzi_fan:Hi guys, I dun think it's antivirus updating problem as i dun use antivirus software... according to the thread starter's first post, it mentioned tat he/she got put microfilter..Originally posted by donchoo:Did u put a microfilter on all connected phone line ports?
Assume that you are using Win XP:Originally posted by Yanzi_fan:My current ethernet LANS use an MTU (maximum transmission unit) of 1500 bytes. How can I change it to 3500 bytes.
i suppose u connected it properly ?Originally posted by Yanzi_fan:yes, I got use microfilter...
this has nothing to do ur with speed..pls dun change it...Originally posted by Yanzi_fan:My current ethernet LANS use an MTU (maximum transmission unit) of 1500 bytes. How can I change it to 3500 bytes.
why not ask yr isp for help?Originally posted by Yanzi_fan:Hi guys, after upgrading my internet service from 512 kbps to 3500 kbps, my internet kept disconnecting by itself every few minutes. One can gain substantial network performance increases, which will improve the speed, though not a lot. I won't even recommend changing. The fixed value used by Microsoft is good enough.Originally posted by kaobeikaobu:this has nothing to do ur with speed..pls dun change it...![]()
disconnection problem doesn't need this tweak...almost everyone uses the standard size, 1500bytes, for their MTU. u get no performance boost if the destination host uses 1500bytes MTUOriginally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:One can gain substantial network performance increases, which will improve the speed, though not a lot. By default, it's 1500, and it's very good already. There's no need to change because we are all home users.Originally posted by Yanzi_fan:So I will not change it. but if my current speed is 3500kbps but the MTU is 1500bytes. Is it ok? ISP can't solve the problem, they dun know the problem too...
