my HDD is split into 2 HDD....means 1 HDD split into C drive and D drive...if i only wanna reformat C drive...how do i reformat without formating my D drive away? Please help
- first, you need a original/pirated copy of WinXp CD(bootable)
- Back up whatever u need to backup in your D drive, which you do not want to format. (Make sure you do that, dont lose important information. You can export your outlook address book to a *.wab file, your IE bookmark to a *.htm file and then import them back later, Other info you backup yourself, i dont know.)
- If your BIOS setting didnt set boot CD rom first, go to BIOS setting and find this setting, change it to boot CD, then boot hard disk drive.
- Put the WinXp CD in, turn on your PC and wait for "press any key to boot from CD-ROM", then press any key when u see this message.
- You will be in a blue screen, wait for all the s.h.i.t to load, keep waiting while it keeps loading.
- When you can choose to repair or install. Choose do to a fresh install.
- press F8 to agree to the agreement. If you bother to read, read it, lol
- when you come to a screen to choose which drive you want to install your XP, choose C:, not D:
- press F to confirm to format C: when you are prompted to.
- wait for it to format
- wait for it to restart, this time you dont need to press anykey to boot from CD, just let it run.
- you will come to step by step installation screen.
- wait for it to install and input things when it prompts you.
- After you have installed XP do the routine job. which includes: windows update, install anti-virus, tweak the settings, install programs that you need... etc.
