and u ave a surge protector + back up generator on yr pc..
i thought nly dial up model will be fried..any help?
well..mine is under guarantee..so i dont really care..

Not only modem will be fried, your motherboard will be fried too, if you play in that kind of condition. Time to buy new motherboard if you smell something burning. For Singapore, it's rather safe because we have lightning rod on every building. However, one shouldn't take things for granted because you never know the power of nature.
