CREATING a new emoticon -
When MSN Messenger stores your new emoticon, it automatically resizes it to 19 × 19 pixels. (Custom or premium emoticons resize at 50 × 50 pixels.)
I noticed that animated .gifs are instantly considered custom emoticons, so they will not be resized if they are smaller than 50 x 50.
You can use the following file formats to create custom emoticons: JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG. Animated GIFs are acceptable as well.
However, non-animated gifs will be resized to 19 x 19. What exactly is the difference between a normal and 'custom' emoticon? I'm trying to create emoticons(smaller than 50 x 50) but they always get resized to 19 x 19, which is tiny. Does anyone have a solution to it? -
Custom emoticons need to pay.

You have to download this application first, no installation required.
Now head to the display pics section of the website, choose one you like, copy the link under your favourite dynamic pic and paste the link into the program above. It'll bypass the security settings of MSN and install the dynamic pic into your MSN messenger. Tried it and it works fine with MSN 7.5 and 8 (Beta).

How do u save the emoticons which you already have on your computer?

Look for the first folder, for mine its 105880861, not sure whether it'll be different for the rest of you. Theres a folder named CustomEmoticons and inside contains all .dat files. Open the files with Internet Explorer and you'll be able to see your own emoticons and save them as gif -
