Do a 'MID-LIFE-UPGRADE' yourself loh. I removed all parts from my pc. Air blow and brush off all dirt and dust from the CPU heat sink. Next clean up the psu and its fan. Includes all the fans you can find inside the pc. I replaced wif a new cdrw/dvd combo drive, a 2nd hand higher cpu chip and larger heat sink. Add in 2 exhaust fan for better ventalation. In any case, most likely, it's the mechanism of your rom is mal-functioning.
Probabilty, your PC can still survive by changing to a new CD/DVD drive.
