How to "convert" a PC LCD Monitor to a TV?

Hi all,
Pardon me of this lame thread as I am very much interested to find out whether is there any way tht i can "convert" a LCD Monitor to a TV??Wish that someone can advise me on that.?Thsk in advance!?I do have some considerations as mentioned below(if "conversion" technology actually exists)
1. What type of specs(minimum requirement) must the LCD Monitor need to have, in order to "convert" in to a TV?
2. What are the recommended external device(s)(for the TV channel antenna and the TV channel tuning), to be connected to the LCD Monitor?
3a. Can the LCD Monitor, be further connected to any DVD, or VCD players?
3b. What kind of cables do I need to buy, inorder to connect the LCD Monitor to the DVD/ VCD players?

First of all, check that your PC is able to support this technology. If it is able to, buy a TV card and slot it into the PC.

I do not intend to watch TV programmes with my PC; just that i intend to buy a new LCD monitor and connect with it with relevent divices to make it into a TV, that i can place it in front of my bed, for nightime viewing, thts all -
Since you want to do that, why not just buy a LCD TV? I think it's cheaper and is physically larger in screen size. -
nah, i was thinking of just getting a 17" LCD Monitor, and fixed it to become a "TV"
is it cheaper to get a real LCD TV than fixing a LCD Monitor to be a "TV"? -

oh...so u wanna watch video tapes...vcd and dvd on your dvd player or something right?
just try and look for a lcd that has the 3 color plug socket at the back...but personally i think those are rare and not feasible...take parka's advice and get a 17" lcd tv instead...a 17" lcd monitor is a monitor...it needs to have the blue graphic port to work...other than that...it won't...
if not...you can buy the fujitsu tx desktop that can help u watch tv...your dvd...vcd...and whatever nots...

or you could install tv software on your pc..
