External HDD problem. Not Recognize.

  when i plug in to usb port, it says blar blar blar not recognize. some time it says unknown device.
  
  triecd re-installing the device, tried different computer, tried different HDD, tried different HDD case, still the same.

  Is your HDD from ranger?

  If you are using windows XP, it should be recognized automaticly. otherwise, the disk may be faulty. don't waste time, just change it.

  when u formatted your hard disk...did they ask you which OS u using?

  Try plugging in the external HDD. Ignore the cannot recognize message.
  
  Right click on My Computer, select the Hardware tab and click on Device Manager.
  
  Locate the USB hub that has a yellow exclamation mark (!).
  
  Right click on it, select Properties and click on Troubleshoot.

  cld mean windows does nt have the necessary driver to detect the external casing? casing which brand? can go website download driver for ur hdd and external casing
