Problem with reading burned files on DVD.

  My CD/DVD rom drive now can't read home burned files which i burnt onto my DVD. Whenever i put it into the drive, it has this clicking sound. but when i put in original or CDs whcih i bought it wouldn't have a problem running. Last time it didn't have such a problem and only occured recently. I read somewhere that it require some disk cleaning thing. But what is it ? can anyone help me? or what i can do ? thanks

  yup. cause i opened the cd previously before and could read it. but now i can't open it anymore or any other burned CDs. it would have this whirling sound.

  wan it read other cds?except yr burned cd?If cant then lyk ur frien suggest clean it 1st...if cant read any disc den shud change de drive alrdy

  it can read other CDs but just not all sort of burned CDs. how do i go about cleaning the drive?

  Maybe your DVD is degrading meaning to say there is a possiblity that the DVD have not surfaced any error previously but the quality has degraded tremedously, which caused the reading error problem.
  
  Best approach is to test your DVD on the next DVD rom other than from your PC.
  You can test it from your school or pass it to your friends.

  for dvds, there r 2 type of format. DVD-R and DVD+R. wat brand is ur dvd player? if it is pioneer, it supports DVD-R.. if ur player is other brand, most prob DVD+R..

  i tried using the DVD on other comps and it works just doesn't work on my computer.. It can't read all DVD-R or DVD-RW even the new ones... how ?

  u burned ur files at home?
  then u still can put the ash into the cd drive?
