help on sound driver

  hi all bros.. i juz reformatted my com and realise tat there is no sound ... i unistall the sound driver and reinstall in and the device manager says it working.. but there is no sound coming out of my speaker... i test my speaker a mp3 player and it can work.. so i confirm is something wrong wif my cpu.. can any bros help me ?

  Plug in the correct place or not?
  
  The wires for speakers should be at the green colour hole. Not some other colours like pink or white.
  
  Next, go to the sound card website and download the latest drivers. Installing from CD might not work.

  Check yr device manager...The 'Sound,video and game controllers'...izzit something like a yellow button next to the names of the devices?

  Check yr sound situation in Control Panel also...Go to 'Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices', then 'Sound and Audio Devices'....Make sure sound and audio devices are all detected there...This also happened to me once after i formatted..

  Since you provides so little info, I can only speculate. When you a sound file in your computer, does the file "play" but no sound comes out or does it not "play?"

  Erm... sound card is integrated or is it a card? If it is a card, make sure it is plugged in the correct slot. Most sound cards use PCI slot.

  Bought from manufacturers like Acer, HP, IBM, etc, please check warranty card. Some don't allow you to open up the casing without voiding warranty. If warranty period is over, go ahead and open.
  
  Custom built just open up. From the place where you plug in the wires, trace the card to where it is placed. Look at the card and find the model number if possible, do a search on Google to make sure it is a PCI or AGP card. If you can't find a card, means it's integrated. You probably have to bring to a repair shop.

  erm.. think it is integrated...i juz discover tat i haven not install my raid driver .. maybe tat the reason of no sound ?

  Raid.... sounds more like some video card or graphics card to me. No link to sound card. Perhaps you can try updating it.

  what has hdd raid driver gota do with sound...
  if sound card is on the ma ma pang, get the ma ma pang model and go to ma ma pang website to download the sound driver.

  try reinstall the driver and make sure u select the correct driver.
  if still cannot, just buy a sound card. normal 1 will do, 20/30++ i guess..

  one would ask......did you changed a hardware configuration........i mean changed a cdrom.....hdd drive..........?
  
  what sorftware platform are you using.....win98.....winXP....linux......windows NT.........hmmmm......
  
  did you touch the sound card piece with your hands......i mean static electricity can kill an electronic component.....hope you didn't.......
  
  and i guess that's all i could think off.......
