[b]Music player strikes a sour note
I HAVE a problem with a Creative Zen Micro music player I bought. The ear jacks often failed, thus sending no sound to the earphones.
This seems like a manufacturing defect but the company has refused to acknowledge it.
I am stuck with a $399 MP3 player that lasted just one year.
Without a warranty, CreativeCare charges $138.80 to repair the ear jack.
Its customer service was none too helpful, implying that buying a new player off the shelf is the better option.
Surely a product like this should not fail after just one year?
What has happened to Creative's quality control?

i believe if creative loses their monopoly on sound cards, they are done for.Originally posted by rathcycle:Creative won't make it bigger than Apple. Period.

The Brand prides itself on Sound Cards and instead of focus on how to bring it's products into another level, it jumped into the MP3 business and in the process diluting it's Brand. Yes, they came out with earlier models of MP3 players than Apple but already it has build a strong loyalty on it's SC. They think it is a good way to extend their Branding into MP3 since... "hey, we do SC, so music/sound surely is relevant rite?"
Too many models, less than effective advertising, hurting it's Brand by having way too much WareHse sale (and with ads done amatuerishly), negative PR with the press overseas and a my-mp3-is-a-iPod-killer attitude are some of the major mistakes.
