Laptop Base/Cooling Pad

  I saw this base for a Laptop in Stationary Superstore the other time back. It's meant to make use of the space below the laptop for putting stationaries and stuffs. Does anyone try it before?
  
  And do I need to use any cooling base for my laptop in my Air Con room ?

  If you are using it in an air con place, there's no need to use a cooling pad, but you have use those balls to keep the laptop tilted so that the laptop won't overheat if you use for a long period of time.
  
  If you are using it in a non-air conditioned place, use a cooling pad.

  cool, cooling pad..wonder does it cause moisture to the base of my laptop though

  cooling pad sucks the hot air out from ur laptop and divert it away, nt blow cool air into it, so cfm no moisture de larh.....

  unless ur air con is only set to be abit cooler than outdoor temperature, it's a good to have item.

  I'm using ATake cooling pad. Bought from Best Denki at $45.
  
  Not bad... I can really feel the difference in temperature. It's much cooler now, though some heat will always be generated. It's also much more ergonomic to type now.
  
  Kinda ex, though. I've seen cooling pads costing $20. Dunno how effective they are.

  I actually decided for Toshiba M100 in the end. Cost me $2,899.

  You will know why in due time.
  
  But if you want to know why, it heats up very badly. Even in air con rooms.

  Is that a quirk suffered by all Toshiba laptops?
  
  I'm using Toshiba Tecra M2V. The heat generated can be quite considerable especially when I'm spending long hours typing reports... which is why I bought a cooling pad.

  yah lor, yah lor...
  i used to use toshiba... i changed the cooling fan once... but a year after, it got the same problem... this time plus motherboard got corrupted...

  I wouldn't generalize. Most of my friends using Toshiba got this problem.

  my bro's toshiba doesnt have any heating problems, was a 4-5year old model

  I was using my laptop to play Age of Empires 3 this morning for around 5 hours in an open ventilation area and it's wasn't that hot compared to the Acer laptop which is being used as a POS system.
