Saving of YouTube Files

  Anyone or any previous threads on how to save files from YouTube?

  Look for the video file in your cookies folder. Then click on it and save as in the folder you desire.

  The above might not work, because the movie clip in youtube is in flash format instead of normal video formats such as wmv or mov.
  
  Cut and paste the URL of the youtube movie into http://keepvid.com/, download the file and change the extention to .flv
  
  You can then use a player that can view flv files to view the movie, such as vlc player.

  I installed this Vid Downloader into my Firefox browser but not working that well it seems. Me on OS X. Maybe works better in PC.

  You need VLC player to play .flv files or what I did is use CinemaForge to convert .flv to .avi.

  thats becoz windows hides the known extensions.
  
  to make them appear, go
  
  tools > folder options > view > uncheck "hide extensions for known file types "
  
  then change the file to "insert filename".flv
  
  and use vlc player to open the file
