dvdr burning question

  i'm trying to copy a 3g size dvd disc. In total there are around 10 folders inside, I copy the 1st folder into my pc. However, when i drag the first folder into the Nero burning software, the first folder size is already 3g. That would mean i need a dvd disc for every folder and 10 to cover all the folders. I suspect it something to do with Nero. I choice burn dvd rom as my new project,i'm sure there is a way which can reduce the file size and pack all the 10 folders into one dvd disc. Anyone experienced with this?

  Try copying to desktop then to the DVD?

  ya, i hv already copy the file from the dvd to my desktop then burn it to another dvd

  dats impossible.. can u check the size of the other folders?

  it's all video files and i wanna burn it as a vidoe file. So no point buring as data.
  
  I suspect the option in nero cal converting to nero digital could be useful in redcuing the file size..I'm at work now, anyone can try it out with a dvd movie and let me know.thx

  cannot leh...i tried everything in nero. i copied all the file into my hard drive.. the space is 3gb plus combined and around 200 plus mb per folder. But when i put into burn dvd, one folder size is already close to 3gb.....anyone know how to compress the file size properly? i just notice this dvd is written only to be used on a dvd pc rom... but actually i want to burn the video files as a dvd disc.

  i think u have to burn directly.. choose copy dvd or something.
  
  y do u have to copy em to ur harddrive before burning?

  Theres an option named Duplicate Disc or Copy Disc, just pop in the disc you wanna duplicate and when it finished reading all the data, pop in a blank one with it tells you to. Much easier method

  worst comes to worst makea disc image with nero first and burn the image to the new dvd

  i found the copy dvd option in nero, what is the meaning of source and destination drive? for source, the only option is drive e which is the dvd drive. For destination, it is either my drive e again or image recorder. Which is the correct one to choose?

  Since there's a topic on DVD, I'll borrow this thread. Would like to know if I'm required to use NERO to burn my DVDs at all time ? I know if I copy CD-R, RW, I just need to drag and drop.

  if its just data like doc...you can drag and drop i think...but if you wanna burn movies from the dvd...then i think you need to use nero cos there are some information that is burned into also...

  i'd recommend using NERO all the way.
  
  the cd writer software for windows is severely outdated. they purchase from roxio if i remember right.

  source -> the drive with the original dvd which u wan to copy. say.. drive e.
  destination -> the drive which u want to copy into, with the blank dvd. u can put it as drive e too.
  
  so u should choose drive e for both.
  
  after it read the original dvd, it will make a copy in your harddrive automatically with the correct file structure, everything.
  
  den it will eject the drive and ask u to put in a blank dvd-r.
  
  u put it in, den it will write the dvd data into this drive.
  
  wala. done!
