  i also wana use 7.5 at first but i had probs wid 7.5...cant sign in...reinstall also cannot...that's why tried WLM..and it' been good for me albeit a few problems here and there..

  7.5 has higher probability of signing in than 8.0

  I use 7.0 and it'll sign in, even with your corporate firewall you have no control over.

  For me, connections are more stable now. With 7.5, some people say I never reply them when I didn't even see their messages. This new version solves it. You can even send messages when your contacts are offline, so when they come online, they can read it. Older versions can receive the messages, but cannot send offline messages.
  
  But they corrected a few things which you wish they didn't.
  
  Firstly, by default, they will show your contact nicknames. Even when you change it to show their email addresses, the next time you sign in, it will be their nicknames again. You have to change it all the time.
  
  Secondly, the Send Files button is missing and is replaced by a Sharing Files button. If you are behind a corporate firewall, you can't click on the Sharing Files to send files. You now have to click File, Send a single file.
  
  Lastly, for those who can read their emails in Firefox (or other browsers) when you click on the inbox button, you will be shocked to find that you can't read your emails. IE won't even open it, so you have to sign in manually.

  I am glad I have 8.0 because sign in is so much faster then 7.5 . That is for me. More userfriendly features too.

  Live Mail sucks. It's better to use Microsoft Outlook itself. Switch it back to the original.

  MSN 8 has almost a zero disconnect rate.
  
  Previous versions tend to lag right after signing in, But later version is fine.
  
  Better interface, I can now see my contacts in blocks with details
  
  Faster signing in.
  
  Supposed to be still in beta stage, thus might not be secure. Still, no problem for me so far

  Umm... According to Microsoft, its now called MSN 8. Its a newer generation of MSN 7.5
  
  As for Windows Live Messenger, MSN 8 beta is the foundation of Windows Live Messenger and will only be offically know as this name when it hits the market together with Windows Vista this Nov
