Problem with Login Screen Theme

1. In Explorer, browse to C:\Windows\System32 and find the file named "logonui.exe".
2. Rename "logonui.exe" to "logonui.exe.bak". This way if anything messes up...you have a backup.
3. Place your new login in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 and rename it to logonui.exe.
4. That's it! Now when you log off your new login screen will be there.
I followed the instructions.. But when I went to my login screen it wasn't the one i want. Its the original one. How come? -

I actually went to a website and download a logon screen theme. Then i followed the instruction i pasted on top. But then the logon screen wasn't the one i wanted. its the original one... I want the one that i downloaded

I didn't mess it! I downloaded a window xp logon screen theme from a website. Then I followed the instruction. Then i went to try out. But it is still on the default window xp logon theme... I am here to ask how come its still the default logon theme..

You guys dunno wat i really mean and want. I downloaded a window xp logon theme. I have done all the instructions. I went to try out. It is the ORIGINAL. DEFAULT. ORIGINAL, Window XP default logon theme...

hmm i have a custom logon screen...maybe you'd want to try my method?...for me i just changed the registry path of "UIHost" to the path of the logonui.exe file i had in C:\my documents and it worked.

i know...you are wondering why didn de screen change...u tried the method i suggested?

yes i tried it.. When i open the file it say.. NOt suitable to run with dos

start->run->regedit->type f3 search for "UIHost" then change the value inside to the path of your new logonui.exe file e.g. C:\my documents\logonui.exe and then hit f5 then restart?Originally posted by Whaton|y:How how? can u be more specified?
