  Msn messenger got virus spread. ask u to click a link that shows some picture. anyone kena hit by it and any cure?

  update your virus scan. on computer in safe mode and scan your com. i almost open that file on msn just now..

  I kena that around 10 times... Just ignore the messages. The moment I see that its an exe file, something is definitely wrong. Its spreading like wildfire now. Guys, ignore the links. It may be a new virus so there may not be a patch for it yet. Whatever you do, keep your antivirus updated and DON'T download any unknown files from your MSN contacts

  I've searched Google and found only ONE website reporting on this virus. It seemed to appear back in December 2005 too. If its true, your antivirus should be able to uncover the virus and terminate it.

  I clicked on it!
  Then like 200 windows opened and I couldnt do anything.
  I cried, then unplug the power, then restar, didnt work.
  
  Then I reformatted com.

  You are wrong, this anti virus is not perfectly fine.
  It merely block the virus, doesn't mean it will eliminate the virus.
  
  For example, a disease infected you. Your skins bleeds. The doctor only heal everytime he see your skin bleeds. The disease still inside your body, you doesn't know what else it can do.
  Anyway you heard of time bomb virus before? Some incidents happened before.
  
  Anyway can you give me the link to the virus? I try to disassemble it and see which registry it infect. Usually the program will found in hash, which needs decoding and might take sometime.

  Most of the virus threat here is not very high. As there are visible processes and can end by task manager.
  Some virus manifest themselves into svchost or lsass which is more lethal, however, windows update can kill majority of them.
  
  Anyway I am looking for the souce of the virus, exe or something, thanks.

  haha i kenna.... how stupid... i click liao den suddenly got suspicious of if... by then 2 late liao.... now cannot go internet liao.... hiax... summore is a new com lor... hiax... av s found nth... i found a myspace application in c drive....

  Warranty is only for hardware parts
  
  Software is not covered, any human errors is the same.
  
  Since it is a new pc, not much software installed, maybe you can reformat it.

  i didnt get anything but my issas is always 100% in task manager, causing com to hang sumtimes

  my friend says eventhough u reinstall msn...the problem will come back again some time?

  Lol, nonono... Lsass is a system process of the Microsoft Windows security mechanisms. It specifically deals with local security and login policies. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer.
  
  I mean some viruses may manifest themselves into this service and run together with it. In that case, you can't terminate this system process at the same time, you can't terminate the virus too.
  
  I not sure why lsass might cause your system to hang, however you might want to:
  
  1) Download Process Explorer and check the dll (dynamic link libraries) within it and/or process associated with it.
  
  2) Start>Run>"services.msc"
  Disable the following services:
  i)Security Account Manager
  ii)Security Center
  
  3) View your process services:
  Start>Run>"cmd"
  tasklist /svc
  
  View the associated dlls:
  Start>Run>'cmd"
  tasklist /m
  
  After that if you found suspicious dlls files, unregister it using:
  Start>Run>"cmd"
  regsvr32 /u
