  So far so good lah... Comparable to MS Office applications and best of it is that it's free...

  It's free and legal, which I think is the biggest draw.
  
  It can do mostly what MSOffice can do, unless you want to use 100% of all the features in MSOffice.

  need to adapt to the different steps.... much like using the different brands of handphone for sms....
  
  overall v2 is much better than OO v1

  Yes, it is free. It has most features that MS Office has, although some things work a bit differently. It doesn't take one long to adapt as long as you are familiar with MS Office.
  
  The best thing is, you can open any MS Office files with Open Office. Just remember to associate them correctly.

  You can open a MS Word document with OpenOffice, but how do you open an OpenOffice's Writer document with MSWord?

  u can't open OO doc with MS office..... unless u save the OO doc as compatible to MS Office.....

  You can open OpenOffice documents in Microsoft Office, provided you save them correctly. To open an OO file in word, make sure it is save as .doc. Make sure the option you choose correspond with the version (e.g. Microsoft Office 2000).
  
  
  
  Same thing for Powerpoint, Excel, etc
