Are computers cheaper elsewhere?

  Are top-branded, top-end computers like Toshiba, Sony, etc. cheaper in the U.S.A. than in Singapore?

  Another way is that if you have friends going there to the States, get them to help you buy, you only own your friend a favour...

  I live in the US but I am figuring out if its worth my while to get a newer notebook before returning to S/pore.

  i dont think theres any laptop that is a desktop replacement and being lightweight, not for now unless you might want a dual core processor and with a travel weight of around 2.2kg. thats acer

  right I want both a desktop replacement and another a good portable.
  
  I have a Toshiba notebook that I have used for the last 3 years, its great but the graphics is not acceptable for video editing and playing some of the latest games.
  
  I was deciding between getting another Toshiba +/- a HP.
  
  Problem is that USA stuff does not have extended warranty to Singapore.
  
  Silly people, wrote them but they don't reply.
  
  I think it is better and cheaper, hopefully will move here in the near future permanently.

  If they are sent over here, obviously it will be expensive. Yes, I've converted them to SGD, not USD.

  I only suggested this route because you mentioned comparing Sg prices with those in the US.
