Internet Explorer Popouts, help!!

Alright ppl, i need help.
My IE browser keeps on pop-ing out weird ads from some website and i have already tried blocking the url using the Options thingy, anyways i don't use IE to surf the insternet, i use Mozilla Firefox. Is there any ways i can stop this popouts using any progs? thanks in advance. -
u can try downloading google tool bar...it helps to block pop ups too..ok now i have 244 pop ups block

Ok, sad to said, you gone to some xxx or downloaded something (hack or illegal) stuff. BUT! we are not here to blame whose fault.
This become a process in your iexplorer already. Sort of a bug more than a virus. Sad to say, cases so far only format can do the job...
Note: Windows update, online scanner, symantic and other client side scanner is useless as the bug is now a bug and not a virus.
Backup and prepare to format... sadded case

This sort of thing happens, when you go clicking on anything that moves in every website.
But usually, this happens because you downloaded something and executed it because it was - FREE!
Best solution; re-format your entire C drive, install a fresh ORIGINAL version of Windows XP (forget Firefox - read up through Google about it) and install an OIRGINAL copy of NIS2006 (Norton Internet Security 2006), update your Windows XP completely through Windows Update , and then begin surfing with more awareness. -

For IE, their blocker basically work for websites which are legal. Illegal websites like crack websites is useless, even if you use Firefox. It's either you get a third-party software like Google toolbar (to a certain extent it works) or you completely format C drive. -
Some possible resolutions:
1. If you have the legal copy of Windows XP, can download it's latest verson of Windows Defender 2, should be able to clear your problems.
2. Run ad-aware or spybot search and destroy to see if they discovered anything.
3. Open IE. On the menu bar, click on tools->manage add-ons. Select the add-ons currently loaded and see which one is suspicious, disable/delete that one.
4. Open task manager, then look at the processes tab, google each (processname + extension) and every one to see which is the suspecious one.
5. Use HijackIt www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html and post the log file here. See if we can see anything suspcious -

go download and use Opera version 9..
it's a better browser and you will not get popups -
