Asus this week unveiled its latest mobile phones, including a slimline slider that doubles up as a
remote control unit. Operating by Bluetooth, the J208 is pitched at business folk,
who can use the handset to control presentations and slideshows. The J208 is 1.7mm thick and sports a 176 x 220, 1.9in, 262,144-colour screen and a two-megapixel digital camera. It's got 64MB of memory on board, expandable by MicroSD card. It's a music player, natch - and
can send stereo signals out by Bluetooth.
The presentation system works the same way, sending out key presses and movements of the five-way navigation control out to a PC. It's the kind of technology already available on a number of devices via third-party applications like Salling Clicker.
The M310, meanwhile, is a tri-band clamshell phone. It too has a two-megapixel camera, this time with an autofocus function, flash and a five-level zoom. The handset sports a 2.2in, 320 x 240, 262,144-colour main display.
It'll synchronise with Microsoft Outlook to transfer contacts and calendar data to its 35MB of memory.Pricing and availability have yet to be announced. ®
